These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the car rental, chauffeur, transportation and related services provided by Machel Car Rental, operated by Machel Corporations LTD ("Machel", "we", "us", or "our"). By making a booking or using our services, you agree to these Terms.
Machel provides professional car rental and transportation services, including chauffeur-driven rentals, airport transfers, corporate transportation, luxury car hire, interstate travel, event transportation and long-term rentals.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, private customers receive chauffeur-driven services. Self-drive rentals are available only to verified and approved corporate organisations or institutions under a separate rental agreement.
Customers should generally be adults and must provide accurate identification and booking information when requested.
Where a person under 18 requires a service, the booking and payment must be made by a parent or legal guardian who accepts responsibility for the booking.
A booking is confirmed only when the required booking information and applicable payment or deposit have been received and accepted by Machel.
Prices depend on the vehicle, service type, duration, location, mileage and travel requirements. The final price will be communicated before confirmation.
Additional charges may apply for extra mileage, waiting time, additional destinations, extended service, parking, tolls or other services outside the original booking.
For chauffeur-driven bookings, Machel provides a professional driver to operate the vehicle. Customers must not drive or allow another person to drive the vehicle unless specifically authorised under an approved self-drive agreement.
Customers are expected to treat Machel drivers with professionalism and respect. Drivers may refuse instructions that are unlawful, unsafe or unreasonable.
Self-drive rentals are available only to verified and approved corporate organisations or institutions and are not generally available to private individuals.
Approved self-drive customers must comply with the applicable rental agreement and ensure that only authorised drivers operate the vehicle.
Service periods and exact operating hours will be stated in the customer's quotation or booking confirmation.
Unless otherwise agreed, a standard full-day booking includes up to 150 kilometres. Additional mileage or extended travel may attract additional charges.
For applicable bookings, Machel provides fuel appropriate to the agreed service and mileage. Additional fuel or mileage costs may apply where the customer substantially changes the agreed itinerary.
Airport pickup and drop-off, parking and tolls will be handled according to the customer's quotation. Charges outside the agreed service may be payable separately.
Machel vehicles must be used responsibly and only for lawful purposes. Customers must not use a vehicle for criminal activities, reckless driving, racing, overloading, transporting prohibited materials or any activity that creates unreasonable risk.
Vehicles are maintained and insured. However, insurance does not automatically remove responsibility for damage or loss caused by negligence, misuse, unauthorised use, vandalism, deliberate damage or breach of the rental agreement.
Customers must notify Machel immediately of any accident, theft, vandalism, mechanical problem or other incident involving a Machel vehicle.
Customers must provide truthful information and reasonably cooperate with Machel, insurers, emergency services and lawful authorities when required.
Customers and passengers are responsible for their own conduct and must use Machel vehicles lawfully.
Machel does not authorise criminal, fraudulent or unlawful activities. Where a customer or passenger becomes involved in a police, regulatory or legal matter arising from their own conduct, Machel may cooperate with lawful authorities as required.
Harassment, threats, intimidation, abusive language, physical aggression, sexual harassment or discrimination toward drivers or staff will not be tolerated.
Smoking, vaping, deliberate pollution of the vehicle, damaging the interior, spilling substances or creating unreasonable hygiene or safety issues inside the vehicle is prohibited unless expressly authorised.
Customers may request cancellation or amendment of a booking by contacting Machel. Applicable cancellation or amendment terms may depend on the vehicle, service type, booking period and notice provided.
Machel will make reasonable efforts to accommodate changes, subject to vehicle, driver and operational availability.
Specific vehicles are subject to availability. If a booked vehicle becomes unavailable because of an accident, mechanical issue, maintenance or another circumstance beyond Machel's reasonable control, we may provide a comparable alternative where reasonably possible.
Customers are responsible for their personal belongings while using Machel vehicles. Customers should notify Machel immediately if an item is left in a vehicle, and we will make reasonable efforts to assist with its recovery.
Machel may collect and process information necessary to provide services, manage bookings, process payments, communicate with customers and meet legal obligations. Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Machel will take reasonable steps to provide agreed services professionally and safely. However, we are not responsible for delays or disruptions caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including severe traffic, road closures, third-party accidents, security restrictions, government action, natural events or unforeseen breakdowns.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Nothing in these Terms excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
